Police apprehend 11 suspected armed robbers, others in Osun
Hope Okafor, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, disclosed this information during a press conference held in Osogbo on Monday.
Okafor stated that the purpose of the press briefing was to highlight the achievements attained by the Command in recent operations.
She further elaborated that the suspects were apprehended in various sting operations conducted by law enforcement personnel.
The suspects arrested include Seyi Ojo, male, 33 years, Kamorudeen Quadri, male, 32 years, Ogbemudia Sunday, male, 48 years, Fatai Toheeb, male, 22 years, David Adebayo, male, 43 years, David Aderemi, male, 30 years, Olalekan Musiliu, male, 35 years and Ayodeji Kehinde, male, 39 years.
Additionally, she mentioned that confiscated items from the suspects include a Toyota Corolla sedan, a Toyota Highlander, eight bags of dry cocoa beans, a red-colored Bajaj Boxer motorcycle, various models of mobile phones, and a gold chain.
Furthermore, the Command disclosed that one of the suspects, Dada Taiwo, was hospitalized due to gunshot wounds sustained during a confrontation with the police.
Okafor emphasized that all the suspects have confessed to their involvement in the crimes and will face legal charges following the conclusion of investigations.
The Osun police spokesperson encouraged individuals who have lost valuables to criminals to visit the headquarters to ascertain if their properties are among those recovered from the suspects.
“The Police Command is using this medium to inform the general public that those whose properties are among the recovered exhibits should come with necessary documents to prove ownership at Police Headquarters, Ring-Road, Osogbo, Osun State,” she said.
