COMPLETE BREAKDOWN: Euro 2024 prize money
On Sunday, July 14, England and Spain will square off in the 2024 European Championship final at Berlin, Germany’s Olympiastadion.
51 games total have been played in the event since it began on June 14. There are 36 games in the group stage and 15 in the knockout stages.
While Spain aims to add a fourth Euro Championship crown to their collection, England is hoping to break their 58-year trophy drought.
The UEFA Executive Committee gave its approval to the tournament teams’ prize money distribution scheme in December 2023.
The €331 million prize money for the competing teams is the same as that in UEFA EURO 2020.
According to UEFA’s website, the distribution key is as follows:
- Participant cost: €9.25 million
- €1.0 million in match bonuses for wins and €500,000 for draws
- €1.5 million qualifies for the round of 16.
- €2.5 million qualifies for the quarterfinals.
- €4 million gets you into the semi-finals.
- The runners-up will also get €5 million extra.
- An additional €8 million will be given to the European champions in 2024.
- If the winning team prevailed in all three of their group games, they may get a maximum of €28.25 million.
UEFA disclosed on Monday that TV rights, international sponsorships, ticket sales, hospitality, and licensing provide the tournament’s income.
