AFCON 2025: Qualifying draw holds in South Africa July 4
The Confederation of African Football announced that on July 4, in Johannesburg, South Africa, the qualifying draw for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations will be held.
The top two teams from each of the 12 groups of four that comprise the 48 participating teams will advance to the finals in Morocco.
The draw will feature the tournament hosts, but only one team from their group will purchase a ticket to Morocco because the Atlas Lions are guaranteed to qualify.
However, CAF has not yet revealed the date of the 2025 AFCON.
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will face off against other opponents in the qualification series throughout the tournament’s September, October, and November qualifiers.
After making it beyond the first round, Liberia, Chad, South Sudan, and Eswatini joined the 44 best-ranked countries on the continent in the group draw.
